Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk needs to be more relaxed when he steps on the pitch.

That is according to pundit Paul Merson.

Mykhailo Mudryk, 22, took a huge weight off his shoulders earlier this week by scoring his first Chelsea goal in the Premier League win against Fulham.

The Ukraine international has come under real criticism for his performances since a move to Stamford Bridge midway through last season, but there’s signs he’s starting to find his feet under Mauricio Pochettino.

Hopefully, he can keep this momentum up when the Blues travel to Burnley on Saturday afternoon in the league.

Merson has shared that he’s a big fan of Mudryk and rates his quality. He’s hopeful that young attacker will be a lot more composed now he’s got his first goal for the club.

“With Mudryk, the problem is decision-making – that’s a significant part of the game that he’s struggling with. I think he’s been trying too hard. He’s got to relax – he is a very good player. The goal against Fulham would’ve done his confidence a world of good,” Merson told Sportskeeda.

We definitely agree that Mudryk’s game is still quite erratic, especially when it comes to his final pass or shot.

However, his raw attributes should frighten the life out of most full-backs when he’s running at them 1v1.

Chelsea boss Pochettino confirmed in today’s pre-match press conference that Mudryk is fit enough to be in the squad this Saturday against Burnley. It’s a huge boost for the individual after his injury scare in the previous game.

It feels like now is a crucial time for the Ukrainian winger to make the most of this momentum, which is why he’d definitely be in our starting XI this weekend.
