Can five Premier League teams compete in the Champions League?


There are restrictions in place that allow five English teams to compete in the same Champions League season.

This could only happen if an English club won the Champions League or Europa League this season but did not finish in the top four of the Premier League.

With City winning the league this season, these regulations would never apply ahead of next season’s campaign.
