RESPECT Kevin De Bruyne would be so impressed if Arsenal FC won the Premier League title

While Manchester City looks to beat Arsenal FC to their fifth championship in six years, Kevin De Bruyne has shared his honest opinion on the overall quality of the Premier League this season.

Chelsea Online News:
De Bruyne would be so impressed Arsenal FC won the Premier League title this time

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne believes this is the toughest Premier League season in years, and hints that winning it with his team or Arsenal wining it would be an even major achievement.

Pep Guardiola’s team are currently five points behind the Gunners in the table, but they have won their last three games against Bournemouth, Newcastle, and Crystal Palace, conceding just once in the process.

To catch Arsenal, who are currently in fantastic form, City will undoubtedly face a challenging task. The team led by Mikel Arteta has won five straight Premier League games and is in contention to win the league title for the first time since 2004.

De Bruyne acknowledged that the league is getting “tougher and tougher” to win against every team week in and week out in remarks made prior to City’s Champions League match against RB Leipzig.

When asked about his side’s form, De Bruyne responded: “I think the league has changed a bit, the lower teams they are able to spend more money and buy more quality players.

“I feel like all 20 teams have so much quality and I think the level of difficulty of beating all these teams is getting tougher and tougher. We are second in the league, we are in three competitions, so I think if you are comparing to a lot of different years I don’t feel too different.”

Arsenal hammered Fulham 3-0 on Sunday to earn their fifth straight win

Arsenal is doing a fantastic job of handling the pressure at the top as they keep winning by putting in consistent results and performances. After beating Aston Villa, Leicester, Everton, and Bournemouth, the Gunners hammered Fulham 3-0 on Sunday to earn their fifth straight win.

The two teams are scheduled to meet again at the Emirates Stadium in late April, and City will fancy their chances of catching Arsenal given Guardiola’s track record of performing better at the end of the season.

Coming up for City is an important Champions League match against RB Leipzig, and De Bruyne is conscious of its importance prior to the game. Despite numerous attempts to at least reach the semifinals, City has never really won the title.

He said: “If you care about the noise, then it’s going to annoy people a little bit. We’ve not won it, but we’ve done really well in the Champions League, although I know people base everything on only winning.

“But I feel there’s been a lot of circumstances in these kind of games – the Madrid game, the Tottenham game, where we deserved to go through but didn’t.

“These are moments in games where these things happen. Obviously I want to win it, but I know as long as we don’t I’ll come here and get the same questions. And I’m fine because people judge you on that. We just try to win these games and be the best people and team we can be.”
