Boehly led the consortium that bought Chelsea from Roman Abramovich this summer, spending over £250 million on players and replacing Thomas Tuchel with Graham Potter, but he has also been involved in a number of recent gaffes.

The English clubs involved in the attempt to create a breakaway European Super League were eventually forced to reverse course after receiving widespread criticism from fans, commentators, players, and managers, with Neville among the harshest critics. Chelsea was one of the clubs involved.

When asked about the European Super League while speaking at the SALT Conference in the United States this week, Boehly, who also believed Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah came through Chelsea’s academy, responded, “I never say hard no’s, I like to keep options alive.”

Having previously accused Boehly of using the video game Football Manager in real life, Neville once again taking aim at the American.
