WATCH: Cap Aaron Judge Quiets His Critics With A Soaring 10th Home Run

Aaron Judge had a very slow start to the 2024 regular season. However, the New York Yankees managed to start the ongoing season on a positive note, thanks to the efforts of Judge’s new partner in baseball crime, Juan Soto. Moreover, the bullpen and the starting pitchers have also done a decent job. At present, the NY side is looking like a complete team offensively as well as defensively. However, some of the key players have not yet played their first game of the ongoing season. For instance, Gerrit Cole, the ace pitcher, hurt his right elbow during the Spring Training.

Due to nerve inflammation in the right elbow, Cole has already missed more than a month of the regular season. Then, the veteran infielder DJ LeMahieu fractured his right foot in spring training. Even without DJ and Cole, the Yankees have been playing really well. Moreover, Aaron Judge has not been at his finest during the first month of the regular season. But it seems like the Yankees captain is gradually turning things around. Lately, with his 10th home run of the season, the 2022 AL MVP gave a good answer to his critics.

The Yankees Nation has learned never to be “Too happy” since 2009. That was the last year when they won the World Series. Since 2009, the Bronx Bombers have never reached the “Big Dance.” Moreover, the kind of season they had last year was even more disappointing for the fans. Hence, they never leave an opportunity to criticize or boo their own players. Due to the slow start this year, the New York crowd booed Aaron Judge in the Yankee Stadium. Some fans even said the 2022 AL MVP should play at Triple-A to gain some confidence back. But in the last seven games, things have been turning around well for the Yankees captain. He has hit four home runs in the previous few games.

Overall this season, Aaron Judge has hit ten home runs. The Yankees captain’s tenth homer of the season came against the Tampa Bay Rays. In the last game against the Rays, Judge reached bases on three occasions. On top of that, in the last seven games, Aaron Judge has improved his OPS. It has been an impressive 1.475. With this improved form, the Yankees captain is beginning to silence his haters. Moreover, Judge is starting to power through the season. If the fans can learn something positive from the past then it is the fact that a slow start does not mean a bad season for Aaron Judge. He has the ability to turn things around.

How The 2024 Season For The Yankees Is Different From The Last One?

Last season, the Yankees faced a huge problem of a superstar slugger short. When Aaron Judge hurt his toe and was out for 35 games in a row due to a torn ligament, the NY side lost their winning momentum. But this year, the Bronx Bombers have Juan Soto and Alex Verdugo as well. Clearly, these new additions in the offseason have changed the vibe in the clubhouse. There is a new “Dawg” energy to the rotation. It is really working well for the team.

Besides the outfielders, the new shortstop has been impressive. Anthony Volpe is proving every time that he can be a future superstar. Then, hitters like Oswaldo Cabrera, Anthony Rizzo and the catcher Jose Trevino are all looking in form. These guys kicked off the ongoing season with some incredible surge. That’s the reason why the Yankees have been looking like real contenders for the World Series.
