CHECKOUT: Aaron Boone Reveals Off-Season Plans For Yankees Slumping Slugger Giancarlo Stanton!

The New York Yankees’ slim playoff chances diminished with the team’s brutal 1-7 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday. Stater Clarke Schmidt could not hold it together as he leaked four runs in five innings pitched while striking out a mere one-hitter. With 11 games left on schedule, the team fell seven games behind the Mariners and Rangers for the final wildcard spot.

One of the many culprits of the loss was Yankees veteran slugger Giancarlo Stanton. The slugger struck out six times in four at-bats in his 0-for-4 night. It has been Stanton’s story in this injury-plagued season. He barely found consistency in the season, and it’s just weakening his case for the future. Amid speculations, the Yankee skipper revealed his off-season plan for Stanton, which might not please the fans much.

Giancarlo Stanton, a former NL MVP and one of baseball’s premier power hitters had a challenging season this year. After getting sidelined for six weeks due to a hamstring injury, the slugger could barely put the time on the plate to good use. His OPS slipped to .702, which continues to be his career worst. Moreover, Stanton has had only five hits this month with a .190 batting average. Amid this, Aaron Boone, the Yankees skipper, acknowledged the slugger’s struggles. “Just having a hard time getting on one of those really hot grooves where he goes a month at a time and gets hot. He hasn’t had that stretch,” added Boone.

Further asked about Giancarlo Stanton’s off-season plans, the Yankees skipper confirmed he is backing him wholeheartedly. He said that the team will try to get the slugger in the best place possible in the off-season as well as in the spring training. This means Giancarlo Stanton is not going anywhere in 2024. After all, he is still under contract for the next three seasons. Parting ways with him at this moment could prove to be a loss-making deal. Hence, the Yanks are probably stuck with the slugger till the end of his contract. On the other hand, Stanton still remains committed to the Bombers. He is willing to work on his struggles and return to his old self next year. Only time will tell if Stanton’s ambition becomes reality or just ends up as a pipe dream.

Meanwhile, the fans, who are cashing out huge chunks of money to turn up in support of the New York Yankees, are witnessing nothing but disappointment. The only playoff hopes developing into the heart of the fans diminished with a recent humiliating loss to the Blue Jays. Naturally, the supporters weren’t happy and blasted the team on the internet.

Enraged fans took to “X,” previously known as “Twitter,” to shower their resentment. Many called the players for lacking the spirit and hunger to win. They have collectively declared the season dead and remain disinterested in turning up for the remaining games. To be fair to the fans, the season has been nothing they hoped for, and from a storied franchise like the Yankees, they expect better.
