As usual, Team USA was the favorite to win the World Cup. Fans were rooting for Steve Kerr’s team as Austin Reaves became a fan favorite in the Philippines, among the host countries. However, Team USA lost to Team Germany in the semi-finals 111-113. It was a pretty close and intense match. But Dennis Schroder was successful in carrying his team to the finals. In the post-game interview, Dennis Schroder mentioned that this German side is the best team he has played for among the NBA and national teams. Since then, the comment has raised some eyebrows, wondering if he is taking a jab at his former franchise.

Instead, Team USA will have to settle for Bronze if they win the next match in the World Cup. Moreover, Schroder’s Germany shocked Team USA and its fans in the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia. Especially, Austin Reaves had gained so much popularity in the current World Cup. However, he could not win on a winning note.
