Captain Aaron Judge Adapts This Former Yankee’s Philosophy To Welcome Rookies To The Camp! Check Out

Aaron Judge, the starry outfielder of the New York Yankees, recently revealed the team’s philosophy to put the new rookies at ease in the camp.

The New York Yankees have a long history of developing young talent, with players like Derek Jeter and Aaron Judge coming up through the team’s farm system and becoming stars at the major league level. And while the team has certainly made its fair share of high-profile free agent signings over the years, the Yankees, in recent years, have shifted their approach to developing young players.

Aaron Judge, the New York Yankees’ new captain, arrived in the Bronx as a rookie in 2016. The outfielder smashed all barriers in 2017 by winning the rookie of the year award with a 52-home run season. Since then, Judge refused to look back and went on to achieve bigger things in the coming seasons. However, the slugger recently recalled his initial moments in the Yankees camp and how it changed his perspective towards the rookies forever.

The New York Yankees used to practice a different ritual years ago while welcoming new and raw talent into the big league camp. The seniors often called out names and teased around with the rookies. However, the atmosphere changed over the years. Aaron Judge, the Yankees now star slugger, recalled his rookie days in New York. The slugger, filled with nervousness and excitement at the same time, sat down to dine alone. Just then, CC Sabathia, a former Yankees pitcher, approached him in a subtle way and called him over to sit across. The moment stuck with Judge and left a deep impact.

A few years down the line, Aaron Judge is now the epitome of a respected senior. As the slugger mentioned, he believes in Sabathia’s policy and is looking to adapt the same while welcoming the rookies into the major league camp this season and beyond. Judge feels that making the youngsters feel comfortable and at home will surely translate into better performances. Hence, he does not believe in giving the rookies a hard time which could possibly hamper their on-field results. Meanwhile, the Yankees this season have welcomed quality new talents who performed way above their set expectations.

Meanwhile, the New York Yankees’ top prospects and rookies are wreaking havoc in the ongoing Grapefruit League. The camp is witnessing one of the most fierce battles between the prospects to claim the starting shortstop spot in the starting roster for the opening day. Anthony Volpe and Oswald Peraza are going neck-to-neck with exceptional displays of quality performances.

With such a high level of competition, the Yankees camp faces a challenging dilemma in reaching a consensus on a single name. The fact that they have not yet declared the winner of the shortstop position with just two weeks to the opening day speaks volumes of the cutthroat battle. Regardless, the Bombers will reportedly round up this week to finally put an end to their month-long tug-of-war.
