Manchester United could have Anthony Martial back in their ranks for tonight’s derby clash with Liverpool at Old Trafford.

The French forward impressed during pre-season alongside the likes of Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford,

only to suffer a hamstring Injury on the eve of the new campaign, subsequently missing the humbling defeats by Brighton and Brentford.

Martial has joined the first-team squad in training ahead of tonight’s high-profile showdown with fierce rivals Liverpool,

but centre-back Victor Lindelof remains out.

“Victor has not returned to the training pitch but the good news is that Anthony Martial is back in training with the team,” United boss Erik ten Hag told club media on Friday.

There is a fresh setback for Facundo Pellistri, who has picked up an unspecified injury which will rule him out for the rest of the month and, potentially, a loan move away from the club.

Elsewhere, there are no fresh setbacks as Ten Hag aims to claim a morale-boosting Liverpool scalp.
