Amusan Wins Third Consecutive Diamond League Title

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan won her third Consecutive Diamond League title after coming out tops in the women's 100m hurdles at the Prefontaine Classic, Hayward Field, USA.

Amusan beat a strong field over the final hurdles, posting in a season-best 12.33.

Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico was second in 12.38 and Keni Harrison of the USA was third in 12.44.

World champion Danielle Williams of Jamaica finished fourth in 12.47.

For Amusan, the world record holder in the event, the victory brings a triumphant close to what has been a difficult summer.

The week before the World Championships, Amusan was provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for whereabouts failures.

However, she was cleared by a disciplinary tribunal on the eve of the meet's kickoff.

Unfortunately she finished sixth in the 100m hurdle final in Budapest.

Earlier on Sunday, uncertainty over the future of Amusan’s career was laid to rest after the deadline for the AIU to file an official appeal against her overturned ban expired.
