Hikers detained on Broga Hill for breaching RMCO

Recently, some 28 Hikers were detained at Broga Hill in Semenyih, Selangor, giving hikers a bad name. According to a local daily, police detained the hikers aged between 20 and 44, for trespassing and breaching our country’s Recovery Movement Control Order’s (RMCO) standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Broga Hill is popular among hikers from around Klang Valley as it is easily accessible and hiked by people of all fitness levels. Mostly, hikers will start before dawn to traverse the grass laden hills to watch the sunrise.

Earlier in June, the Health Ministry was forced to order the popular hiking spot to close after photos circulating on social media showed hundreds of hikers venturing up Broga over a weekend as soon as the CMCO restrictions were lifted up into the RMCO.
