Modestas Bukauskas vs. Vinicius Moreira Rebooked For Fight Island

The July 15th UFC Fight Island event has a new matchup added to the card as former Cage Warriors light heavyweight champion Modestas Bukauskas gets his UFC debut rescheduled.

Bukauskas will be taking on Brazilian Vinicius Moreira in his debut at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi in a bout that was originally slated for the UFC Fight Night: San Diego card on May 16th but the card was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Combate first reported the rebooked bout on Twitter.

The 10-2 Lithuanian fighter is currently riding a six-fight winning streak with his last victory coming at Cage Warriors 111 as he defended the light heavyweight title with a first round TKO win over Riccardo Nosiglia. Bukauskas ended his run with Cage Warriors with a 5-1 record before getting the call up to the UFC ranks.

Moreira on the other hand is currently riding a three-fight losing streak since joining the UFC back in early 2019. Moreira got his show in the UFC via the Dana White’s Contender Series show but has since picked up three losses all via first-round stoppage. Moreira lost by knockout to Alonzo Menifield and Eryk Anders before losing via submission to Scotland’s Paul Craig.

This particular bout is yet to be officially announced by the UFC but Bukauskas did confirm the bout on his personal Twitter account.
