The Quickie also talks about the Canucks vs. Wild match-up.

Two and a half months after hockey paused, The Quickie’s look at each team’s most surprising player and biggest disappointment is wrapping up.

What the hell happens next?

Best and Worst of NYR

Tony DeAngelo might not be an exempliary human being, which might be one reason why his on-ice performance this season flew under the radar.

That, along with the fact that his teammates Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad were two of the best players in hockey this season.

Thoughts on Canucks vs. Wild

Look, there’s no way the Canucks can lose to the Wild...right?

In all seriousness, this isn’t a terrific match-up for the Canucks. If hockey resumes, they’ll play against a Wild team that is terrific defensively and underrated offensively.

That being said, the Canucks have the edge on offence and in goal. Is that enough to offset their defensive deficiencies?

No Sympathy for the Devils

Team 31/31 on my look around the NHL. This one was easy. The Devils most surprising player was Mackenzie Blackwood, who posted sparkling .915 save percentage and a 22-14-8 record for a terrible defensive team in the Devils.

And while there were disappointments in New Jersey, including the performance from Jack Hughes, P.K. Subban’s performance has to be the biggest disappointment for the Devils. Two years removed from being a Norris candidate, Subban was dreadful defensively, wasn’t a factor on offence and chewed up a ton of ice time playing almost 23 minutes per game.

It really does feel like a lifetime ago since hockey was on the air. To inject a bit of positivity into the day, I look at three feel-good moments from this Canucks season.
