Pittsburgh and Nashville both try to finish off their series on the road.
The two teams from last year’s final try and fight their way on to the next round today. At least today you can watch both games as Pitt/Phi play an early Afternoon game for west coasters, while Nash/Col play a late afternoon game. What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than ignoring loved ones and responsibilities, so that you can watch watch that doesn’t involve the Canucks.
Pittsburgh @ Philadelphia 3:00 PM ET CBC
The Pens have another shot to get rid of their instate rivals today. My uncle went on facebook to point out how bad Kris Letang was on the last two Philly goals and he cost the Pens the game. And yet if you go read the recap at Pensburgh, you will see no mention of Letang’s nonchalant skating on the third goal and bad giveaway on the empty netter. Hmmmm.....
I have a feeling Mr Crosby will take over tonight’s game.
Nashville @ Colorado 7:00 PM ET SN
Anybody really know who Andrew Hammond is? Nashville does now. Hammond stopped 44 shots which gave the Avs the ability to tie and then win the game late in the 3rd period. Mile High Hockey recap is here. The Avs have the speed and size to give the Preds trouble, so Nashville better score early and not with their feet like Bonino tried.
Last night’s games
Toronto 4 Boston 3 (Bos leads 3-2)
Toronto almost blew a 4-1 lead in this game. Can you imagine if that actually happened? Toronto might have imploded.
Washington 4 Columbus 3 (Wash leads 3-2)
Some had declared Braden Holtby dead before this series, it seems they were wrong. John Carlson on the PP in this series is automatic and I bet he can hear the FA money coming his way
Tampa Bay 3 New Jersey 1 (TB wins 4-1)
Cory Schneider had a .950 sv % in his 3 games but couldn’t save a Devils team that couldn’t score. Hischier only had 1 point in the series.
