Gervonta Davis - See Myself Breaking Vasily Lomachenko In 10 Rounds

Lightweight champion Gervonta Davis and Fellow unified champion Vasily Lomachenko aren't yet on the same route to a potential fight and are still not in talks for one, despite years of speculation.
However, if they are to meet Davis sees himself stopping the Ukrainian in 10 rounds. Davis gave this prediction during a recent interview with WBA President Gilberto Mendoza on social media.
“I see myself breaking him down during the, probably about the ninth, 10th round,” Davis said. “I see myself breaking him down. It’s not too many people out there that can, you know, stand toe-to-toe [with] me, especially at 130 or 135. I don’t see nobody standing toe-to-toe with me.”

Gervonta Davis is tied up with contracts for an anticipated fight with former four division champion Leo Santa Cruz. A fight that will see him go back down to the Junior Lightweight division. The fight will headline a card later this year. Date and site are still yet to be announced.
Vasily Lomachenko, is presently on a crash course with IBF champion Teofimo Lopez. They were tentatively slated to meet on the 30th of May but the date got cancelled due to the Corona Virus pandemic. The fight was to be a lightweight unification fight Headlining Madison Square Garden in NewYork.
Mendoza went ahead to give Davis a couple of options, naming Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia along side Lomachenko but the Baltimore Knockout artist would fight any one presented to him among them.
“If we can make it happen, it could be all of ‘em, to be honest,” Davis said. “Not no specific fighter. It could be all of ‘em. I’m willing to fight all of ‘em. … It’s gotta be on the right time, right money-wise and things like that. But I’m all for it.”Davis also believes that he is one of the best professional boxers in the Planet naming himself alongside the likes of Canelo Alvarez,Manny Pacquiao, Terence Crawford and Errol Spence.
“Not to be cocky,” Davis said, “but I think I’m probably one of the top skillful fighters that fight on TV now, besides Canelo, Pacquiao, I wanna say Errol [Spence] and Terence [Crawford], things like that. But I feel like I have enough skills to be one of them top guys.”
