Nick Kyrgios talks about Alcaraz’s weaknesses, taking Medvedev as an example

Following Carlos Alcaraz’s victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas on Tuesday night, Nick Kyrgios has made an effort to quell the buzz around him. After a resounding victory in straight sets and a dominant performance that had him appearing unbeatable, the Spaniard secured his place in the French Open’s last four. Alcaraz played quite flawlessly against Tsitsipas in the opening two sets, never once appearing to be under pressure. When his Greek opponent forced a tiebreak in the third game, complacency began to appear, but Alcaraz gathered himself and responded to the challenge, sending a clear message to the remaining competitors.

Now that they have only met once, he will now take on Novak Djokovic on Friday in what is sure to be a must-see showdown. Alcaraz could be considered the favorite going into the match and will aim to prove his mettle against one of the greatest players to ever grace a court.

Kyrgios appeared to disagree, refuting suggestions that Alcaraz could not be vulnerable. Mark Petchey, a former tennis player, asked on Twitter: “What weaknesses do any fans find in Carlos Alcaraz’s game?”

Kyrgios replied: “We were saying similar things about Medvedev once upon a time. Not saying I see one, I’m just saying, until someone exposes them, they look unplayable.”
