Caroline Wozniacki has just retired from tennis after playing her last official match at the Australian Open. The former world no.1 planned to have her farewell event with her dear friend Serena Williams, but unfortunately, that was postponed because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Caroline and Serena had the pleasure to finally partner together (and for the first time) in doubles this year in Auckland and they had great fun. The experience was so nice that Wozniacki commented that she might return to play competitive tennis in doubles if that would be asked by Serena.
In a recent interview with Tennis Channel, Caroline commented:
“Maybe, if Serena asks, I can just come back to play doubles with her in a few more tournaments. In Auckland, it was one of the most fun tournaments I’ve ever played. We didn’t just discuss tactics on the court, we just talked and I thought, ‘Why didn’t we do this before?’”

Ranked no.9, Serena Williams played her last match on the 8th of February when she was defeated by Anastasija Sevastova 7-65 3-6 7-64 in the Rubber 4 of the Fed Cup.
At the moment, this season Serena has a 8-2 win-loss record. Serena Williams has won 1 title in Auckland.
Caroline Wozniacki’s ranking and performance in 2020
Currently the world no.36, Wozniacki played her last match on the 24th of January when she was overcome by Ons Jabeur 7-5 3-6 7-5 in the 3rd round of the Australian Open.
Caroline Wozniacki’s best performance of the current year was getting to the semi-finals in Auckland.
Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki played each other 11 times. The head to head is 10-1 for Williams. The last time that they fought against each other, Serena Williams won 2-6 6-3 7-66 in the semifinal in Singapore (WTA Championships) in October 2014.
