Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Guardians: Rivals Battling It Out
The Minnesota Twins won the AL Central in 2023 by a comfortable margin of nine games, advancing past the Wild Card round before falling in the ALDS to the Houston Astros. Naturally, the Twins did not do anything to bolster their roster in the free-agent market this offseason. But they are right there with the early leaders in this division, the Cleveland Guardians, with those two teams being the early favorites to win the Central in 2024.
Kansas City Royals: A Surprising Start
So far this season, one of the most pleasant surprises in all of baseball have been the Kansas City Royals. KC is above the .500 mark for the year and right in contention in the standings along with the Twins and Guardians in this division. Detroit Tigers: Work to Be Done

The Chicago White Sox could end up being the worst team in all of baseball this season, not just the worst team in the AL Central. The White Sox have the worst run differential in the American League by a convincing margin already this season. There is very little expectation for them to turn things around as they lack the pitching and offense to make any noise in the Central.
