NBA Pacific Division Odds

Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers had the longest odds to win the Pacific Division this year, but they have turned things around in spectacular fashion. Los Angeles traded for James Harden, adding him to a group that already features stars like Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. And with Leonard and George both being healthy enough to stay on the floor so far this season, the Clippers won the Pacific Division and are certainly in the mix to win the NBA Finals as well.

Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns once again failed to reach the NBA Finals last season, even after trading for Kevin Durant. This season, the Suns looked a lot different than they did a season ago around Durant and Devin Booker, as they traded Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton and brought in Bradley Beal. Those players were not enough to help them to win this division, but they were enough to help the Suns avoid the play-in tournament and qualify for the postseason.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers won the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament early this season, with LeBron James and Anthony Davis playing at a high level early on. They only finished in third place in this division, which was good for a place in the play-in tournament. There, James and Davis will have to do some heavy lifting for the Lakers to get into the first round of the playoffs, where they would face a difficult opponent no matter what happens.

Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings were the most pleasant surprise in the NBA last season, winning the Pacific Division and finishing third in the Western Conference. This season, the Kings finished in fourth place in the Pacific, speaking to how tough this division is to play in right now. Sacramento made the play-in tournament as the ninth seed in the Western Conference, but injuries to Kevin Huerter and Malik Monk could make things tough on them in any postseason games they do take part in.

Golden State Warriors

This year’s Golden State Warriors have struggled, barely sitting in the top-10 in the Western Conference standings. Bringing in Chris Paul has not paid immediate dividends, as the Warriors have just been mediocre on both ends of the floor to this point, while Paul has missed a lot of time due to injuries. But the Warriors did make the play-in tournament and they have one of the most dangerous scorers in the history of the NBA in Steph Curry to try and make up for the shortcomings of their roster.
