Oklahoma City Thunder

Chet Holmgren is on the floor this season for the OKC Thunder after he missed last season due to a leg injury. Holmgren has been excellent alongside a legitimate star in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, which has the Thunder playing some of the best basketball in the Western Conference. OKC finished with the top seed in the West and the question will now be whether or not they can do enough in the playoffs to turn heads on a national level.

Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets were not only the class of the NBA Northwest Division this season, but of the NBA overall. Denver finished first in the West, and won the NBA Finals at the end of the postseason. This year, the Nuggets finished second in this division and second in the Western Conference overall. No matter where they finished in this division, though, the Nuggets will be expected to have the best postseason of any team from the Northwest.

Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves spent some time with the best record in the NBA earlier this season. They are elite defensively, combining the size of Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns with the athleticism of players like Anthony Edwards in a beautiful way. But on top of their maturity issues that have negatively impacted them this season, the great play of OKC and Denver dropped the Wolves to third place in the Northwest and in the Western Conference as a whole.

Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz are one enigmatic basketball team. They have had major struggles at times this season, but have also turned things around and been one of the hottest teams in the NBA for a period of time. The Jazz lack the consistency to challenge the top three teams in the Northwest Division for the top spot. That lack of consistency has also ended their postseason hopes, along with their decisions at the trade deadline, which set them back a bit.

Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers made their intentions known this offseason, as they are hoping to get worse before they can get better in the Northwest Division. They traded Damian Lillard and Jusuf Nurkic away, getting Jrue Holiday and Deandre Ayton back. They immediately traded Holiday away and the Trail Blazers sit in the bottom three in the Western Conference, with little cause for immediate optimism in the Pacific Northwest.
