2023 NFC East Division Futures Odds, Betting Preview & Prediction

The Nfc East is typically either one of the worst divisions in the NFL or one of the best, without much middle ground. Currently, this division resides as the former, as it is the home to multiple playoff teams from 2022, including the reigning NFC champions. Here, we look this year’s NFC East futures odds and give our NFL betting picks for this division in 2023.

Philadelphia Eagles

Last season was a breakout year for the Philadelphia Eagles. They stormed through the NFC playoffs, winning both this division and their conference before falling just short against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII. This year, the Eagles are favorites to win the NFC East again, as they have locked Jalen Hurts into a long-term contract and expect their offense to continue humming along.

Philadelphia has made dominating with their offensive and defensive lines a huge part of their identity over the last few years. And adding D’Andre Swift should give them a running back that will help them take full advantage of their offensive line talent. The only question for this team will be whether they can sustain their level of play with a target on their back this year.

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys made the playoffs last season, but fell short in the Divisional round against the San Francisco 49ers. Dallas is just outside of the small group of truly elite teams in the NFC, which consists of the Eagles and 49ers for now. But they are not to be counted out in the race for the NFC East either, after making a few interesting additions in the offseason.

Dallas brought in Brandin Cooks to bolster their receiving corps, and drafted a running back in Deuce Vaughn that has drawn comparisons to Darren Sproles (and not just because both played at Kansas State). On defense, they have added Stephon Gilmore, which could help them limit the damage when they face off with Jalen Hurts and the Eagles.

New York Giants

After the Cowboys and Eagles, there is a significant drop-off in terms of chances to win the NFC East. The New York Giants made the playoffs last year, but were demolished by the Eagles in the Divisional round. With an offense that just is not where it needs to be at this point in time, the Giants still have a ways to go if they are going to contend for the title in this division anytime soon.

New York has tried to fix its lack of weapons for Daniel Jones to throw to by bringing in Darren Waller, Jamison Crowder, and Jalin Hyatt. Waller and Hyatt come in with legitimate injury concerns, as Waller’s fragility in Las Vegas was well-documented (though marrying WNBA star Kelsey Plum in the offseason is certainly a huge win for him). Crowder, meanwhile, is approaching age 30 and it will remain to be seen what he can provide.

Washington Commanders

The biggest longshot to win the NFC East this season is the Washington Commanders. They come in at +1000 or higher when looking at the NFC East futures odds at most sportsbooks. With it looking like former North Carolina QB Sam Howell will be their starter this season, growing pains are to be expected from Washington in 2023.

2023 NFC East Futures Prediction

For now, our pick to win the NFC East is the Philadelphia Eagles, who should build nicely on their accomplishments from a season ago. Jalen Hurts is a legitimate star in this league, while the physicality of the Eagles will be hard to match for Dallas, New York, or Washington. Their season may not end in another trip to the Super Bowl, but that remains to be seen, as the Eagles should make the playoffs as division winners.
