Blues vs Avalanche Betting Pick

This game will be played at Ball Arena at 8:00 PM ET on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.

Why Bet The Avalanche:

The Blues are without Jordan Binnington, who’s been outstanding through his six postseason appearances in 2022, posting a 1.72 GAA and .949 save percentage. Ville Husso will guard the cage in Game 5, and the 27-year-old Finnish has been awful so far this postseason. Over his previous five appearances, Husso has gone 1-4 with a 3.76 GAA and .884 save percentage.

Darcy Kuemper has been one of the best goaltenders in the NHL in the last few years, and he’s 5-1 with a solid 2.14 GAA and .917 save percentage in seven appearances in the 2022 Stanley Cup. Kuemper has allowed eight goals over four games on the home ice this postseason.

The Avalanche needed just 27 shots to score five goals in a 5-2 victory over the Blues in Game 3. Last Monday, they outshot St. Louis 37-20, tallying a whopping four goals through less than five minutes in the second period. Nazem Kadri scored a hat trick, while Valeri Nichushkin and Bowen Byram accounted for a pair of dishes apiece.

St. Louis Blues

The Blues relied on Jordan Binnington a lot. Victor Husso patrolled the crease through the first three contests of a first-round series against Minnesota, and since Binnington took over in Game 4, the Blues have been unstoppable.

St. Louis certainly needs more from its offense that averaged 3.77 goals per game this past regular season (3rd in the NHL). David Perron found the back of the net twice last Monday, while Pavel Buchnevich had one goal and one assist.

Colorado Avalanche

The Avs were tallying 3.76 goals per contest in the regular season (4th in the NHL). Nazem Kadri, Gabriel Landeskog, and Nathan MacKinnon scored five goals in the postseason each, while Cale Makar and Mikko Rantanen combined for a whopping 18 assists.

Colorado has gone 7-1 in its last eight games overall and 10-3 in its previous 13 showings on the home ice. Also, the Avalanche have won seven of their last nine home encounters with the Blues.
