The 2020 Big 12 Tournament heads back to Kansas City as all 10 teams will look to earn the leagues automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. Kansas and Baylor are the huge favorites to make it to the championship game and it would be a shock if that is not what we ended up with. The tournament gets started on Wednesday, March 11 and the champion will be crowned on Saturday, March 14. The top six teams will receive a first round bye.

Only four active members of the Big 12 have won the conference tournament and it will come as no surprise that Kansas leads the way with 11 titles. Iowa State (5), Oklahoma (3), and Oklahoma State (2) are the only other active members to win the tournament. Missouri, who is now a member of the SEC, won the title twice when they were still in the Big 12. Texas, Baylor, West Virginia, Kansas State, and Texas Tech have all made the championship, but have never won the title. TCY is the only current member to have never reached the final.
Last season, Iowa State entered the conference tournament as the #5 seed and pulled off three upsets en route to lifting the trophy. The Cyclones opened up their tournament with a 17-point win over #4 Baylor and then beat #1 Kansas State, by four, in the semifinals. In the final, Iowa State handled #3 Kansas and came away with the 12-point win and the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Cyclones were upset in the first round of the NCAA Tournament after losing to the #11 seed Ohio State 62-59.
A week ago it seemed like a foregone conclusion that the championship game would be Kansas vs Baylor, but a recent dip in form from Baylor has people questioning that now. I expect #1 Kansas to face #5 Texas Tech and #2 Baylor to face #3 Oklahoma in the semifinals. In the final it will be #1 Kansas vs #2 Baylor with the Kansas Jayhawks coming away with another Big 12 Championship.
