Jil Teichmann is a professional female tennis player from Switzerland although she was born in Barcelona (Spain) on the 15th of July 1997 and grew up in the city. Her parents, Regula and Jacques Jil, were both in Zurich in Switzerland.

Teichmann started playing tennis at a young age after claiming she had tried all other kinds of sports, a scenario she described as “unexpected.” Nevertheless, from unexpectedly playing the game of tennis, she has now developed into a professional who sits comfortably at the 21st position on the WTA Singles Ranking.

The Swiss player is a linguist who speaks five languages: German, Spanish, English, French, and Catalan. Jily, as her friends nickname her, enjoys leisure time with her friends and two dogs, Freddy and Baschi.

The current coach of Jil Teichman is no other than the phenomenon Arantxa Parra Santonja.

The successful coach who has a record-breaking Career as a professional player started coaching Teichmann in 2019.

Parra is an ex-Spanish professional female tennis player who began her pro career in 2000 and retired 19 years later from the game (2019) to start her coaching career.

Thus, Teichmann became her first professional trainee in the same year.

She had quite an explosive career as a player, recording 11 ITF Singles titles, 11 WTA Doubles titles, and 9 ITF Doubles titles. Jily was more of a team player as the star attained a career record highest ranking of 22 in the Doubles Category, whereas she could only break into the top 50 (46) as a single player.

Parra immediately impacted Teichman as she led her to win two WTA Singles titles between the 2019 and 2020 tours. The first title came at the Prague Open in May 2019 while the second one was at the Palermo International Open after defeating Kiki Bertens in the finals.

The coaching relationship between Parra and Jil has been full of success since 2019, and they hope to maintain and increase their achievements together for a long time.

Before her training under Parra, Teichmann was coached by ex-Spanish tennis male player Alberto Martin who was also born and grew up in Barcelona. He retired in 2010 to begin his coaching career and appears to be the first professional coach of Teichman when she started her professional career in 2013.

As a player, Martin won three (3) Singles titles and reached the quarterfinals of five Masters Series Cups. He was also a successful team player, winning three (3) Doubles titles before dropping his racket.

During his time with Teichmann, they were two other team members: Francisco Perez, who served as the physiotherapist of Teichmann, and Toni Martinez, who was the fitness trainer. However, we cannot confirm if these two specialists are still on her team.

Most of her success under Martin came in the Junior championships, where she won the Grad A Campeonato Internacional Juvenil de Tenis Porto Alegre in both Singles and Doubles Categories in 2014. She also won the Doubles Title at the Grade A Trofeo Bonfiglio before wrapping up her team player success with another Double title at the 2014 US Open Girls alongside Ipek Soylu.

She eventually ended her career as a junior player as the number 3 in the world and continued her achievements at the WTA and ITF Women Circuits. She recorded her first title as a pro player at the 2015 ITF Circuit under Martin.

The reason for their split is unknown as their time together was not so famous, although it was full of some remarkable development in her career.
