David De Gea To End His Career If No Big Club Approaches Him

David De Gea intends to retire from professional football if he doesn’t receive an offer from a big club

If he does not receive an offer to be the first-choice goalkeeper at a large Club, David de Gea may retire. The former Manchester United and Spain goalkeeper has turned down multiple offers, including one from Saudi Arabia, citing money as a secondary incentive.

De Gea is keeping fit in the hopes of receiving an offer from the right club and a manager who sees him as being in his prime. After leaving Manchester United in the summer, De Gea, who will be 33 in November, wants to play for a team capable of challenging for major trophies.

De Gea left United following a stellar 12-year career that included titles in the Premier League, FA Cup, two League Cups, and the Europa League.

The untold story of David De Gea

He won the Premier League Golden Gloves twice, including last season, was named to the PFA team of the year five times, and won United’s Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award, which is voted on by fans, for a record three consecutive seasons and four times in total.

De Gea is said to be dissatisfied with the way in which he left United after his contract expired. Erik ten Hag’s desire to replace him as No. 1 with André Onana resulted in De Gea being given a new agreement on lower terms, despite being one of United’s highest-earners, earning almost £375,000 per week.

Negotiations broke down in July, so De Gea was unable to say goodbye in front of his fans.
