The 2022 FIFA World Cup is going to start from November 20 and the coaches have started to announce their national teams’ Squad.

Spain’s head coach Luis Ernique has named his official squad for the tournament. His 26-man squad surprisingly include six forwards but more midfielders roughly indicating a game of high passing throughout the World Cup campaign, as they always do.

For the first time ever, Sergio Ramos has not been included in Spain’s World Cup squad. He has appeared in 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cup before.

“I won’t assess the players who aren’t on the list,” Luis Enrique said when asked about Ramos.

“I recognise and thank all of those players who have contributed during my time here and played games with the national team, but from there, the important ones now are the 26 who are here.”

Talking about Fati, Luis Enrique said: “Ansu is in a process of getting back to being the player he was before his injury.

“He’s now totally recovered, he’s played a lot of games for his club. We can discuss when he’ll be back at his previous level, we all want that.”

Let us tell you that Fati hasn’t played for his country since October 2020 because of the knee injury which ruled him out for 10 months.

Spain Starting XI

  • Ferran Torres – LW
  • Alvaro Morata – ST
  • Marco Asensio – RW
  • Pedri – CM
  • Rodri – CDM
  • Gavi – CM
  • Marcos Alonso – LB
  • Cesar Azpilicueta – CB
  • Pau Torres – CB
  • Dani Carvajal – RB
  • Unai Simon – GK

Ferran Torres and Alvaro Morata – Alvaro Morata has been good for Atletico Madrid this season. On the other side, Ferran Torres may not have shown his form this season but he surely is a great striker.

Marco Asensio – Spectators will have their eyes on this Real Madrid winger in the upcoming tournament. We all have seen his shooting skills or from how far he is capable to shoot.

Pedri and Gavi – Fans call them the new generation of Andres Iniesta and Xavi. And this is because of their playing style which is a lot similar to the two legends.

Rodri – The Manchester City midfielder is one of the best defensive midfielders in the world at present. We believe he will be selected for the World Cup squad which is yet to be announced.

Marcos Alonso and Dani Carvajal – These two names have a total of six UEFA Champions League titles combined. Of course Carvajal dominates by far but Marcos Alonso also needs to show his true strength to everyone.

Eric Garcia and Pau Torres – Spain’s defensive area will mostly depend on these two young players.

Unai Simon – Simon’s performance in 2020 UEFA Euros earned him a great respect. He will most probably be the first choice goalkeeper for Luis Enrique.
