Chandela-Kumar give India a shot at gold, Bhaker-Verma falter
After a historic performance at the Commonwealth Games earlier this year, the Indian shooters began their campaign on Sunday at the Asian Games in Jakarta and India have reached the 10m air rifle mixed team event final where country’s Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar, who scored a total of 835.3, will be looking to bring in the first Gold on Day 1.
However, in the other shooting mixed team event, Manu Bhaker and Abhishek Verma, who scored a total of 189, failed to make it to the 10m air pistol final.
But in the Men's Trap Manavjit Singh Sandhu has completed a very good first round in qualification with Lakshay for the company. In the women's trap, Shreyasi Singh and Seema Tomar also stay in contention for the final.
