Which team should reach out to the Steelers about Bell?

A talent like Bell is not an easy find in the NFL these days. A guy who is a legitimate 3 down back threat is something every team in the league has wet dreams about. If your the Steelers however, in this case the off the field attitude and me first mentality is not something you are interested in pursuing any further. The real question is what is his worth to other teams considering it could be a half season rental.

There is a question of what the Steelers would accept for Bell – a bounty that would need to be at least a third-round pick because that is what Bell’s free-agent departure would likely draw in a compensatory draft choice. But the more complicated matter for teams pursuing Bell is the fact that they can’t sign him until after the season, due to franchise tag restrictions. In effect, he could be a short-term rental for any team that acquires him, choosing to play out the string and maximize his value in free agency. There’s also the matter of Bell being intent on preserving his health prior to that free-agency foray. It’s a goal that will likely extend to any team that signs him as well.

The Colts are going to have a shit ton of open cap space next year and have the youngest roster of players under contract so that alone screams Bell Bell BELL. The Colts organization wasted so many years of Peyton Manning in his prime so I doubt they want that same thought with Andrew Luck so I would think this puts urgency on the front office to make a return to the Super Bowl and a run to sign Bell.

A dark horse team I dont hear much talk about is the Oakland Raiders. Marshawn Lynch is getting older and the wheels are gonna fall off that RB train soon. Toss that in with the pitch forks coming out against Gruden for dealing Mack and a Bell splash is just what this organization needs. Think about it, takes the pressure off of Carr and allows Cooper and Nelson to utilize there strengths and stretch the field. Something tells me that Bell would love soaking up the California sun as well.

Wherever LeVeon does go he will be a factor for sure and give whatever team an instant shot in the arm. One question still remains, when do Steelers fans start burning his jersey?
