Arsenal considering recalling Marquinhos from Nantes

Intriguing developments suggest that Marquinhos, currently on loan at Nantes, will return to Arsenal during the upcoming transfer window.

The 20-year-old winger missed Nantes’ recent 4-0 loss to RC Lens due to his commitments with Brazil’s U23 squad at the Pan American Games in Chile

Despite the irregularities in terms of playing time with Nantes, Marquinhos has started all three group matches in the past week, helping Brazil U23 reach the semi-final of the tournament with three assists as they prepare to face Mexico on Wednesday night.

Marquinho’s call-up to the national team has proved beneficial to the team but still left a bittersweet experience with Nantes. The winger was loaned to Nantes last summer with high hopes of securing consistent playing time. However, he has only been featured in five of Nantes’ 10 Ligue 1 matches so far, having missed the last two fixtures due to international commitments.

Arsenal’s expectations might trigger their intention to propose an immediate termination with his loaned club, Nantes, if nothing changes before January.

During the summer, Marquinhos attracted interest from various clubs, including Nottingham Forest, Empoli, Bologna, Frosinone, and Olympiacos. However, no deal materialized at the time. Nonetheless, the Brazilian’s current situation at Nantes could reignite the interest of these clubs in the upcoming January transfer window.

As the transfer window approaches, the footballing world will be watching closely to see whether Marquinhos returns to Arsenal or if he continues to explore other opportunities in his promising career.
