Despite the irregularities in terms of playing time with Nantes, Marquinhos has started all three group matches in the past week, helping Brazil U23 reach the semi-final of the tournament with three assists as they prepare to face Mexico on Wednesday night.

Marquinho’s call-up to the national team has proved beneficial to the team but still left a bittersweet experience with Nantes. The winger was loaned to Nantes last summer with high hopes of securing consistent playing time.
