Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus’ potential move to Arsenal has received another boost after Former Premier League goalkeeper, Paddy Kenny alleges that Jesus will most likely give a nod for the move to playing under Mikel Arteta who once worked together with the Brazilian while been Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Man City.

The Brazilian is a big fan of Arteta so much that after Arteta left City for Arsenal, he concedes that: “He’s helped a lot of players. When I want to do finishing after training, I tell him and he comes and helps me.

“So he is fantastic for us. All the players know that — everyone knows that in the club. He is a fantastic guy and fantastic manager. I don’t honestly know what he thinks about his career, that is for him. I hope he can find his way and I hope he can be happy.”

Arteta is now Arsenal’s boss, and he is driving them towards a return to success. The praises he showered on Mikel Arteta would not have been tantamount to anything if there wasn’t some form of respect, love, and appreciation for what Arteta had done to improve the Brazilian.

The near-reality arrival of the fearsome Norwegian forward Erling Haaland from Dortmund as further made Gabriel Jesus’ stay at the Etihad beyond this season to be impossible, considering his contract expiring next season.

Despite not enjoying enough starting berth at City, Gabriel Jesus has carved a name for himself as one of the most complete forward in the footballing world and that can be attributed to his amount of goals (95) scored and 48 assists contributed despite coming on from the bench on most occasions in as much as 234 appearances in all competitions.

With his eight and nine EPL goals and assists contribution respectively this season, he has shown enough promise and capability of being the main man in a new environment (like Arsenal).

Paddy Kenny tells Football Insider: “If Arteta wants him then they got on and he rates him. So I can’t see there being any issues there. Jesus has always put up good numbers but he could probably get a few more goals if he is the main man somewhere.

“He’s Premier League quality and we know Arsenal needs a striker so it makes a lot of sense. They could easily sign him in my opinion. I don’t know who else would be in for him.”

The addition from Kenny has undoubtedly confirmed that the Gunners can boast of an outstanding goal monger and a complete forward if they secure Gabriel Jesus’ signature this summer.
