Granit Xhaka allows Amazon’s ‘All or Nothing’ crew to document his recovery from injury

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has given Amazon access to film his recovery from injury for Arsenal’s upcoming All or Nothing documentary. The Swiss star limped off the pitch in last weekend’s 3-1 North London Derby win over Tottenham at the Emirates.

It was initially reported that Xhaka suffered a serious injury to his medial knee ligament. However, it was later confirmed that Granit Xhaka didn’t require surgery, but he will need a three-month rehabilitation period.

Arsenal’s 2021-22 campaign has improved significantly following a horrific start to the season in which they suffered three League defeats. And Amazon have been there to capture every moment after the Gunners signed a deal with the broadcast giants to film a ‘All or Nothing’ documentary.

Although Xhaka’s injury would have likely been covered by the Amazon crew, the Arsenal star has given Amazon the green light to follow him throughout his rehabilitation period. Xhaka recently posted a picture of himself in the gym while wearing a brace.

Reports from The Athletic have claimed that Xhaka has given the documentary crew permission to film his recovery. The midfielder will not be in action for Arsenal until the end of the year. Amazon’s ‘All or Nothing’ Arsenal documentary will be airing only after the current 2021-22 Premier League season ends in May.

The Gunners supporters will be eager to get an up-close and personal view of Xhaka’s injury when the documentary releases next year.

Xhaka was on course to leave Arsenal in the summer and was linked with a number of top clubs in Europe. Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma were closely linked with the midfielder in the summer but Xhaka agreed a new deal to stay with Arsenal until 2024.

While speaking to reporters at the weekend, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admitted that Xhaka’s injury was a big blow to the team but insisted that other players at the club need to step up in absence of the Swiss star.

“It’s really bad news personally for Granit. He’s had a couple of incidents already this season with Covid, with suspension and now with a long-term injury. Obviously, he’s a big player for us, someone who is really important, and he will be missed. Other players have to step in.” explained Arteta.
