Manchester City to increase Erling Haaland’s wages

Manchester City are set to double the pay of Erling Haaland or atleast increase it by 60% according to the reports. The Norwegian striker currently earns £375,000-a-week and is Man City’s joint earner along with his partner in crime Kevin De Bruyne.

Halland, however, has been City’s best player since his arrival. And with Saudi clubs stealing the European stars by splashing huge sum of money, Manchester City are set to increase his pay in fear that they may lose him.

The former Borussia Dortmund striker may have already achieved everything a top player would wish for but he is in the start of his career and would want to continue playing competitive football. He surely is enjoying his time here at Manchester but things can never be assured when money comes into the picture.

City knows that all Saudi shaikhs and Real Madrid have been showing interest in Haaland and in a bid to lure them away, The Blues are set to increase his pay upto £600,000-a-week. They will also look to extend his contract beyond June 2027.

The £51.2 million superstar had a dream start to his English football career, scoring a whopping 52 goals in last season. This season too he has been on the scoresheets and has already registered a hat-trick under his belt in City’s last game against Fulham.

If Haaland’s salary is restructured, he will be one of the top eight most paid footballers in this generation. His salary will rise from £19.5 million a year to £32.5 million a year.

The 23-year-old surely would want to continue his winning form with the treble winners but a raise in pay scale is equally deserved.
