Babnan Village in Hooghly District Sees a Massive Muslim Congregation This February
WestBengal Ijtema also known as BabnanIjtema A huge Muslim congregation and public gathering (Ijtema) was organized from 3rd Feb to 5th Feb 2018 in Babnan village under Hooghly district, West Bengal. This grand religious gathering was organized by Tabligh Jamaat in West Bengal.
The day before commencement of the Ijtema, thousands of Muslims attended the Jumma prayers conducted by IMAM.The three-day congregation started after Fazr prayers with religious sermon by Islamic scholars on Saturday morning dated 3rd Feb 2018 and concluded on 5th Feb 2018 with ‘AkheriMunajat’.
Haji Muhammad Kamrul Huda, leader of the Ijtema Committee, said that Muslims coming from various districts were provided with proper accommodation. This Ijtema was conducted after a preparation of about two months. He claimed that this congregation brought together almost 10 lakh Muslims.
In this Ijtema, the 10 lakh attendees prayed to Allah to maintain harmony among human beings irrespective of their race and religion. They also prayed for the well-being and prosperity of the people of our nation.
The Minister of Urban Development of West Bengal, Firhad Hakim, praised the Ijtema organization committee for the efficient organization of such a massive gathering. He said that peace can be propagated among mankind with the right usage of religion.
The Babnan Ijtema was attended by several prominent ministers, political leaders, and high ranking government officials. To conduct the Ijtema efficiently, safely, and smoothly, the district and state police extended their assistance adequately, said Haji Muhammad Kamrul Huda. Additionally, about 4,500 volunteers were dedicated to offer necessary help during the Ijtema.
The Babnan Ijtema is the largest Muslim congregation after the Bishwa Ijtema. This religious gathering was attended by thousands of Muslims from all over India. The 3-day long Ijtema, stretching over about 250 acres of land, presented an amazing view of faith and devotion.
