A PRO MMA fighter who nearly lost a leg in a Horrifying Car Crash is now Suing Transport Chiefs over the stomach-turning accident.

Former Muay Thai champ Chris Bonilla has released a series of gruesome images showing the extent of the damage to his leg following surgery to reattach it to his body.

The shocking injury came after Bonilla crashed into what he claims was an unmarked barrier on the side of a motorway in California last year.

Now Bonilla, who has also fought under the Glory kickboxing banner, is suing the California Department of Transportation, which he claims is responsible for his devastating injuries.

Bonilla is reported to have been driving on 10 Freeway in West Covina, about 20 miles east of Downtown Los Angeles, when he needed to pull over.

As he did so he hit a barrier that he says was not properly marked.

The crash destroyed the front of his car and in the process almost severed his left leg and broke his collarbone.

Doctors were able to reattach his leg but there are fears Bonilla will struggle to make a full recovery and could be forced to have the leg amputated later.

The fighter is now suing road chiefs after claiming they failed to give drivers necessary protections against accidents caused by barriers.

Bonilla, who stands 5 foot 10 inches tall and weighs around 10 stone 7 pounds, is said to be doing well after surgery but US website TMZ Sports reports his leg is still in “bad shape”.
