Aston Villa is on cloud nine; they’re in pole position for the fourth spot, and Unai Emery deserves such success, but guess who’s in town? The team that wants to snatch their dream, is Tottenham Hotspur.

Ange Postecoglou’s side would relish this fixture; it’s their opportunity to tell Aston Villa the truth, their own truth, and they would hope the hosts have no response to their statement. It’s a game we love to see on Sunday.

All eyes would be on the fixture at Anfield; it’s the top two, and you can understand the war of words that has stolen headlines between Trent Alexander Arnold and everyone at the Etihad, but this game is equally important to the top four conversations.

Aston Villa keeps finding creative ways to win; they’re in pole position to win the Europa League. It would be a great joy to land the trophy, but they also want to finish in the top four. Unai Emery is out there, trying to prove he’s an elite manager; he has a chance to add credence to that argument.

Tottenham’s season was blighted by injuries; they still have a few names on the treatment table; Richarlison has joined Manor Solomon and Ryan Sessegnon on the treatment table, but Postecoglou has enough depth to prosecute the game with key players back.

Boubacar Kamara’s season is over, he joins Emi Buendia and Tyron Mings in that regard, Jacob Ramsey will not feature and John Duran will be assessed, everyone else is available for selection, and that must delight Unai Emery.

It’s a top-four six-pointer, after watching Manchester United win on Saturday at Old Trafford against Everton, these two sides must pick points to steer clear of the Red Devils, this makes this an interesting one.

Ollie Watkins is in the running for the player of the season, his goals have propelled Aston Villa to reckoning this season and, that makes him their most important player. Emi Martinez has kept them in games with his great saves too, you have to respect Douglas Luiz and John McGinn too.

Tottenham missed James Maddison and that affected their season badly at some points. Timo Werner was on the score sheet last weekend, that must help his confidence going into the run in and, Heung Min Son will need to step up more, it’s a game to relish.

Verdict: Full-time draw.
