The FA Cup round of 16 games has concluded, leaving us with mouth-watering fixtures for the quarterfinals to be played after the international break.

Chelsea rallied against Championship side Leeds United to advance to the quarterfinals; Leeds scored first, stunning the Stamford Bridge crowd as early as the 8th minute. After some embarrassing defending, Nicolas Jackson drew the Blues level not long after.

Mhykailo Mudryk handed the hosts a lead going into the break, but Chelsea soon lost the lead in the second half. It was looking like the game was headed for penalties, but Connor Gallagher stepped up at the death to stab home the winner.

Elsewhere, Manchester United also left it late before getting a way past fellow Premier League side Nottingham Forest. Casemiro scored the only goal of the game with just a minute left in regulation time to send United to the last eight.

Erling Haaland scored five times in a 6-1 annihilation of Luton Town on Tuesday. Newcastle labored past Blackburn on penalties, while Leicester City shocked Premier League side Bournemouth 1-0 to complete the last eight numbers.

Manchester United will square up with Liverpool in the quarterfinals; the rivalry between the two will be rekindled at Old Trafford on the 17th of March, right after the upcoming international break. It’s a fixture to look forward to.

Coventry City destroyed Maidstone on Tuesday, and they have been rewarded with an away trip to the Molineux Stadium. The Wolves will be the clear favorite in this one, but the championship side has surprises up their sleeves.

The Blues will take on high-flying Leicester City. Enzo Maresca’s side has impressed many times this season and could be inspired by the 2021 finals, where the Foxes beat Chelsea 1-0 in the final through a Youri Tielemans goal.

The final quarter-final fixture is between the reigning champions and Newcastle United. The latter could use some good news on the injury front. While City has everyone fit and available, the quarterfinal is primed for the magic the cup brings; we can’t wait.
