Thomas Tuchel insists he's the man to turn things around at Bayern

The embattled Bayern Munich coach, Thomas Tuchel, has reiterated that he’s not planning to walk from his job after receiving backing from the club’s CEO.

Recently, the German champions have struggled, losing three consecutive competitive games and facing the risk of elimination from the Champions League by Lazio after their defeat in the first leg in Rome last week.

The embarrassing 3-0 loss to Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen was swiftly followed by the loss to Lazio, and then a 3-2 loss at VFL Bochum may have caused key figures at the club to start pressing the panic button, but Tuchel insists he is not leaving.

"If you ask me, if I firmly believe me and coaching staff can Turn Things around, yes," Tuchel said after the defeat to Bochum. "Growing pressure? That happens after every defeat. But today we never stopped, never stopped trying."

Bayern Munich currently sits second in the Bundesliga, eight points adrift of Bayer Leverkusen, and as things stand, there’s no margin for error anymore for the reigning champions. They seem to have lost the fear factor; Tuchel must do something.

Club CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has backed the coach with a robust statement, confirming the club is focused on winning their next game and not trying to make managerial changes. This should be a piece of comforting news for Tuchel.

"It feels like a horror movie that is not ending. Everything is going against us at the moment," he said. "We can sit here again and say we started well. But now you feel stupid enough to limit yourself to half an hour. In the end, we tried everything, so you can't blame us." A statement from Leon Goretzka reads:.

Bayern is known for ruthless performances and domineering results; this season hasn’t been anything like that, and they’re now in danger of losing their crown and also dropping out of the Champions League in the first knockout round.
