The transfer window slammed shut on Friday night with Premier League clubs counting their chicks, and it’s down to squad quality and management now.

Burnley will host high-flying Tottenham at Turf Moor on Saturday, with Vincent Kompany hoping to finally get the Clarets to register their first win on their return to the Premier League after promotion from the championship last season.

This is Burnley’s third consecutive home game this season after being unable to play Luton on matchday 2 due to the new boys’ stadium challenges, and Burnley still hasn’t registered a point for the home fans to celebrate. Here’s a good opportunity to do that.

It’s been a good start for Tottenham so far. Two wins and a draw, including a top performance against Manchester United and a 2-0 result to match. Ange Postecoglou has changed the belief in the team, and the football is now sensational.

The days of Antonio Conte and boring football have been swept under the carpet, and fans can’t even remember the borefest that characterised the reigns of Jose Mourinho. It’s an amazing time to be a fan of Tottenham Hotspur.

Burnley plays expansive football under Vincent Kompany, and that will match the interesting energy of the current Spurs side. It will be a tale from end to end, and it will be a joy to watch for fans and neutrals who just want to enjoy football.

Both clubs had contrasting luck at the Carabao Cup in midweek. Burnley beat Nottingham Forest 1-0, while Spurs played out a 1-1 draw with Fulham at Craven Cottage before losing on penalties after Rodak saved from Davison Sanchez.

Anass Zaroury is suspended after his red card from the last game, and Aaron Ramsey still isn’t fit to play, but Lyle Foster is expected to lead the line. Spurs must be wary of Luca Koleosho on the wings, as he can trouble any defender on his day.

Tottenham has signed Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest, and that could mean something for the position of Richarlison, who has fired blank in three league games this season already. Heung Min Son enjoys playing against Burnley; watch out for him in this game.

Verdict: Tottenham to win
