Man United Beat Crystal Palace 2-1 Despite Red Card

Marcus Rashford celebrates after scoring his 11th goal for Man United since returning from the world cup

Manc United continued their winning streak with a victory over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring from a penalty spot after a handball was spotted by the video assistant referee.

Marcus Rashford then turned home Luke Shaw's cross 17 minutes into the second half for his 11th goal since returning from the World Cup.

The game took a dramatic turn when Casemiro was sent off for violent conduct after the VAR spotted him with his hands around Will Hughes' neck.

Schlupp halved the deficit almost immediately and the game ended with United protecting their goal with four central defenders.

The managers, Erik ten Hag and Patrick Vieira, argued with the referee about decisions that went against their team.

The win lifts United to third in the table while Palace remains in 12th.

Rashford and Fred Vital for United

With Antony Martial ruled out through injury, Rashford's goals are crucial for United.

He now has 19 goals in all competitions and also claimed an assist for the opener.

Fred is also an important player for the team, despite being held up as an example of United's transfer market failures.

The Brazilian has recently shown that he can be a significant threat inside the area and links play well.

Fred Proving His Worth for United

The Brazilian midfielder has often been criticized for his lack of end product, but he is now showing his worth for United.

Fred still hustles and harries, but he also links play well, shoots from distance and is a significant threat inside the area.

He proved his effort in the game with a tireless performance and United will need more of the same from him as they strive for success in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace Must Improve Their Defense

Crystal Palace played well but ended up without reward, continuing their poor run with five points from their past eight games.

Schlupp was excellent, scoring a goal and creating an opening in the first half.

The absence of Wilfried Zaha with a hamstring injury was not a major blow.

They are a better side to watch than in Roy Hodgson's day but are also easier to score against.

The room Rashford was given for the winner was poor, and Vieira must improve the basic art of defending amid the fluidity of his side further forward.

They must turn their form around if they want to stay out of trouble at the bottom of the table.
