The league leaders have not won at Everton in four attempts, drawing three and losing one but on the overall, the Gunners have a great record against the Toffees and a win on Saturday at Goodison Park will strengthen their title case.

Everton fired Frank Lampard and straight into the dugout after his Burnley sacking last season, Sean Dyches was named to steady the ship and guide Everton back to life and you must ask for the ambition of the Everton owners with this type of decision.

Arsenal’s strength is in the unity of purpose and the tutelage of a young and vibrant manager in Mikel Arteta, named manager of the month for the third time running after an impressive January where he was forced to a goalless draw by Newcastle and then beat Spurs away before ending United’s title talks.

Arsenal was believed by many to have had a great January window; Leandro Trossard joined the team from Brighton and Kiwior joined from Spezia to bolster the defensive united while the long-awaited need for a midfield cover came in the form of an experienced Jorginho from Chelsea.

The excitement isn’t at Everton in that regard, many would prefer the board resigns and not the manager but losing Anthony Gordon to Newcastle left bitter taste in the mouth of the fans but couldn’t they have sold him to Chelsea for more last season?

How will Everton line up? Dyches will seek to fix the defense first and foremost, he will be there to frustrate the Gunners and the question would be for how long? No one would berate the former Burnley man if he doesn’t get a result in the game but can he cause an upset?

Only Newcastle has successfully shut out the Gunners this season, scoring isn’t a problem for Arsenal and as they don’t concede much, they’d love the records of Newcastle in that regard, if Everton can be brave, use Demarai Gray to frustrate Ben White or Tomiyasu, they may nick something.

Arsenal is expected to be unchanged from the side that beat United but Thomas Partey is a doubt with a rib problem, if he’s unavailable, Jorginho may step up to the carpet for his debut. All eyes would be on the left wing, Trossard or the ever-impressive Gabriel Martinelli?

Watch out for Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah, Everton must know about the strength of Martin Odegaard by now; on paper, there’s little the hosts can do to stop a team like Arsenal but will the new manager bounce help them here?

Verdict: Arsenal to win
