Rooney, Lampard shortlisted for the Everton job

It’s no longer news that Rafael Benitez has been sacked by Everton and the search for the seventh manager in six years is on with former Everton and United legend Wayne Rooney and Chelsea great, Frank Lampard in the running for the job.

Rooney is doing a great job at troubled Derby while Lampard got Chelsea to a top four finish under difficult circumstances but was fired after a run of poor results in his second season at Stamford Bridge, the club is expected to name a permanent manager in the coming days.

Chelsea ready to move for PSG’s Kurzawa

Chelsea are quite lean in defense with long term injuries and covid ravaging the squad and they have identified PSG’s Layzin Kurzawa for the desperate need to stand in for Ben Chilwell after losing Lucas Digne to Aston Villa.

Kurzawa isn’t seeing minutes at PSG and he’s surplus to requirements, PSG will be willing to loet him go albeit permanently but the Blues only want a stop-gap till the end of the season, discussions continue on Monday in that regard.

Talks in the media in the past few days suggest a strain in the relationship between the Striker and the club with headlines quoting Haaland saying the club is putting him under pressure, a decision has to be made soon.

Anthony Martial wants out of United

Sevilla were interested in Manchester United’s Frenchman Anthony Martial but that has cooled and with recent developments between the interim manager Ralph Rangnick and Martial following United’s 2-2 draw against Aston Villa, he might be on the move anytime from now.

Rangnick said after the draw at Villa Park that the striker doesn’t want to play but Martial fired back that he has never refused to play, it’s getting messy and the striker will do anything to see the exit door.

Lucas Torreira is on loan at Fiorentina and he’s a regular with them, they’d love to keep him and that makes it easy for Arsenal to land their man but with the agent giving Arsenal some headaches, something has to give before the window closes.
