Paris Saint-Germain spat with Mbappe throws Manchester United striker search into disarray – Manchester United news and transfer news

If a report in Italy suggests that Paris Saint-Germain will now be fully focused on signing Rasmus Hoylund, then United could face a huge problem.

In recent weeks, Hoylund has become Eric Tenhager’s primary target for reinforcements at the forward position.

Shot chances were a big problem for United last game, and the lack of strikers in front of goal cost the team dearly at times.

The same apparent difficulty against Lyon in Edinburgh on Wednesday was on full display in the number of clear chances in the early stages of the game.

Ten Witches himself was quick to point this out, further emphasizing why reliable shooters are on the agenda this summer.

The reliable Alfredo Pedula reports that contacts between Manchester United and Atalanta are expected to continue this weekend with a view to agreeing a final fee for Hoylund.

Pedula said Hoylund’s talks would not be as long as Andre Onana’s – with both sides eager to find a solution as soon as possible.

The Dane remains an “obsession” for the Red Devils.

The Italian journalist has also noted interest from Paris Saint-Germain. A recent report by Le People’s newspaper mentioned that the Parisians are “ready to approve” a formal pursuit of the 20-year-old.

Ligue 1 giants such as Manchester United are in talks with Atalanta, but the English club are the frontrunners as they have agreed personal terms with the player.

Gazzetta dello Sport has further conveyed Paris Saint-Germain’s admiration for Hoylund, who they say is their main replacement for Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe is currently locked in a bitter row with his employers, who are looking to sell him in the coming weeks, following his public statement that he will not extend his contract beyond the upcoming season.

Paris Saint-Germain did not want to lose the Frenchman for free and even ruled him out of pre-season to make their transfer stance clear. The condition was described as “intolerable”.

With that in mind, they are also eyeing Dusan Vlahovic and Hoylund.

As it stands, the United target is more popular than Vlahovic, who fears a move to the Parc des Princes could fall through the cracks.

Vlahovic’s representatives were apparently spotted ahead of a meeting with Paris Saint-Germain officials in Paris to discuss a move from Juventus.

The Serie A side have yet to receive offers from France for their talisman, although they remain keen to sell to relieve some of the financial pressure they are facing.

Vlahovic is, of course, the man who was previously said to be on Manchester United’s radar.

If Paris Saint-Germain’s attempt to sign Hoylund is successful, it could prompt a move for Vlahovic from Old Trafford.

Such a result is not far from reality.

Radeja hopes PSG’s concrete interest will spark a bidding war with Manchester United – which will only lead to a price increase for Hoylund.

Luis Enrique’s side could have a wild card which could allow them to get ahead of 20-time England champion Hugo Ekitike.

Atlanta wants Ekitik as a direct replacement for Hoylund and could potentially be used as a complement in any trade.

Romano provided an update on the ongoing fiasco.

He said: “Manchester United’s plans remain unchanged. As revealed yesterday, there will be a bid for Rasmus Hoylund soon to avoid a hijack by Paris Saint-Germain.”

“Paris Saint-Germain are in talks with the players’ camp – Manchester United have a deal with Hoylund and talks with Atalanta.”

Now the onus is on United to step up the pace and ensure they are not targeted by Paris Saint-Germain, who are clearly in hot pursuit.
