In the summary: Charles Leclerc insists that the presence of the film production team of Brad Pitt and Lewis Hamilton in the paddock will not be a distraction for him or his fellow drivers.
In short
Film crews will not disrupt the paddock, insists Leclerc
A film production team, Dawn Apollo Films – set up by Lewis Hamilton – will shoot on location in the F1 paddock for the remainder of the 2023 season as part of a Formula 1 film starring Brad Pitt.
Asked by RaceFans if having the film crews around the paddock would be a distraction for the drivers and teams, Leclerc replied: “No, I don’t think it is.”
“In the end, one more camera or one less camera, I don’t think we realize that much,” continues Leclerc.
“I think it’s amazing for the sport, however, I think it’s great. It gives us a really big exposure, a big reach for people who maybe don’t know or aren’t that much interested in Formula 1 just so that they understand it better, in a more lucrative way and with the movie, I think that’s the best way possible So no or at least for me it won’t add any pressure, but I don’t don’t think for anyone, because we’re getting used to having cameras around.
Reports elsewhere suggesting that Pitt will drive an F1 car in official session as part of filming plans are not correct – the actor will instead drive a modified F2 or F3 car which will only be driven outside of the official track activity.
Hamilton to fly Pride flag on Miami helmet
Lewis Hamilton says he will run again with a pride flag on his helmet this weekend in Miami to support the LGBTQ+ community amid an ongoing statewide suppression of their rights.
The Florida State Legislature has passed a series of bills and statutes aimed at targeting the rights of LGBTQ people in the state. Asked by RaceFans whether it was appropriate to race in Miami, which is Florida, Hamilton said it was “not for me to decide something like that”.
“I’ve read some of the decisions that have been made in government here, and I don’t agree with that and I don’t support it,” Hamilton continued. “And I continue to really support the LGBTQ community. I continue to wear the rainbow flag on my helmet this weekend. And I really want to continue supporting the community here and letting them know that I’m on their side. And I hope they will continue to fight against this.
“It’s not the people of Miami making these decisions, it’s the government people, and that’s the problem. I think whatever I can do, this sport will be there whether I am or not. So while I’m here I’m just going to try to continue to be supportive and just being here and having them on my helmet, hope that says a lot.
Sargeant excited for his first home car race
Williams rookie Logan Sargeant said he was looking forward to racing in the United States for the first time in a car.
The Florida native left the United States during his karting days to compete in Europe. While competing in Formula 4, Formula Renault, FIA F3 and Formula 2, Sargeant never raced in his home country until the Miami Grand Prix this weekend.
“It’s amazing to be here,” Sargeant said. “I’ve probably had about a thousand ticket requests at this point – no, maybe a hundred.
“It’s going to be great to be in my very first car race in America – it’ll be pretty cool. Just to see the American fans, our friends and our family here. The mood I know is always good in the States – the American fans are having a blast. So I’m excited to have that home atmosphere for the first time and to really enjoy every part of the weekend.

“Instead of drilling crude oil into the ground, P1’s synthetic fuels use ethanol from biomass waste and carbon and hydrogen captured from renewables from the electrolysis of waste biomass ethanol avoids growing new crops for fuel, so it’s an environmental bonus, while the captured carbon should – in theory – neutralize what comes out of the fuel cycle combustion. combustible.”
