DETROIT (AP) — Mats Zuccarello and Kevin Fiala Scored in the penalty shootout that led the Minnesota Wild to a 6-5 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday. Matt Boldy scored twice in regulation, and Zuccarello, Kirill Kaprizov and Joel Eriksson Ek also had goals to help Minnesota sweep the series this season. Cam Talbot made 29 saves and stopped Jakub Vrana and Dylan Larkin in the shootout to seal Wild’s second straight win. We need to be that intense right now so we can play the way we want to play. Vrana and Lucas Raymond each scored twice in regulation time, and Jordan Oesterle had a goal with 2:51 remaining to tie Detroit at 5. Nick Leddy had three assists for the Red Wings, who blew a 4-2 second-quarter lead, were outshot 40-34 and lost their fourth straight game. Boldy opened the scoring and Vrana, who missed the first five months of the season with a shoulder injury on the first day of training camp, tied for Detroit. We got up early and responded well. They got up late and we responded well.” Zuccarello scored a power play goal in the second period, and Boldy and Kaprizov scored in the third to put Minnesota up 5-4. But Oesterle equalized late in regulation to send him into overtime. NOTES: Detroit’s Marc Staal played in his 999th career game. If he plays Saturday in Calgary, he will be the third member of his family to reach 1,000 games played, making the Staals the first trio of brothers to reach that milestone.
