He could yet chose to remain playing for become one of the Coaching staffs or even an assistant to head coach, Ferreira.

“Ferreira is an excellent coach,” the general director of the club, said.

“He has a contract until the end of this season, whether or not it continues is in the hands of the president.”

Reports in Spain have hinted that Xavi’s ultimate goal is a return to Barcelona at the end the of his time in Qatar. For now he is still considering his options on whether to hang his boots or not (he turns 39 on January 25th 2019).

Xavi has never hidden his desire to return to Barcelona one day and regardless of whether he continues playing or not within the next two years, he would continue taking his coaching lessons.

In addition to his current coaching training routine in Qatar, he is set to begin coaching course being though by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
