Father of Fc Barcelona captain, has given Barca fans hope as he plays down Juventus links.
The midfielder's Father has come out openly to play down reports linking his son with a move away from Barcelona to join Juventus in the 2018/19 campaign. Italian sources have been linking Iniesta with a move to Italy as his current Barcelona contract expires in 2018.
Barcelona have however offered the Spaniard a contract extension and recently he has denied that he has had an agreement with the Spanish giants yet, his father revealed in a recent interview that the player’s future will be in the Camp Nou.
“I speak to my son every day,” Jose Antonio Iniesta told Cuatro.
“Andres doesn’t intend to wear a jersey other than Barcelona, so he won’t have to face them as an opponent. Considering the way he looks after himself, I think he can have an important role at Barca for another two or three years.”
We all hope Iniesta can soon be commited to his new contract, while we wait on Lionel Messi to pen fresh terms.
