Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi will continue being a Barca player for another three years until June 30, 2021, after agreeing to a three-year contract extension.
This new deal was announced via a statement on the club's official website on Wednesday. He will put pen to paper in few weeks after his honeymoon. Messi got married last Friday.
According to Goal.com, Messi will become the world's highest-paid footballer after he signs this new deal, which is for more than €22m annually after taxes.
Sources confirmed that Messi's release clause would be set at €300m and Messi will now earn a massive £500,000 per week.
Messi joined Barca as a 13year old and has then made himself an important figure in the football world.
