After weeks of speculation, Barcelona has now confirmed and announced their first summer signing for the first team.
The club announced via a statement on their website that they had activated the buy-back clause for winger, Gerard Deulofeu. The forward would be returning to his boyhood club once he returns from the U21 European Championship with Spain.

FC Barcelona has activated the buy-back clause for Gerard Deulofeu. In the following days, the terms will be agreed with both Everton and the player. Deulofeu’s contract will run until 30 June 2019.
Deulofeu left Barcelona two years ago to join English Premier League club, Everton. He initially played for Everton during a loan spell in the 2013/14 season. And then headed back to Spain to join Sevilla for another loan spell, before permanently returning to Everton in 2015.
Barcelona got £4m from Everton for the player, but Barcelona made sure to include a buyback clause in his contract.
