Premier League predictions: Man Utd, Man City and Fulham to win

The last match week on the year would present third consecutive for Manchester United, while Man City should win again. So would do Fulham.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Everton

Brighton are a very strong host. I have watched them against Arsenal and they were good during the first half. No one should underestimate them as they are a really competitive side. However, Everton are a different team than Arsenal. They are more direct and they don’t need to control the game and to have a lot of possession to win.

It looks to me that the Toffees will get a result at Brighton.

Everton to win: 1:2

Fulham vs Huddersfield Town

I watched Fulham against Wolves and I have a mixed feelings. Claudio Ranieri has begun shaping the team in his own way and has already made Fulham more competitive side. I terms of tactics they are a bit similar to the Leicester City side that won the league few years ago. Fulham do not have the same quality in the squad, but they are now capable of creating chances out of nothing and if Aleksandar Mitrovic and other strikes begin scoring, the Cottagers will start picking points.

As of now Huddersfield look like a team which is going to be relegated. They have lost 3 home games in a row against Brighton, Newcastle and Southampton and those were all games they must have won, if they were about to keep their Premier League place.

Fulham to win: 2:1

Leicester City vs Cardiff City

I’m curious on whether the Foxes will record a third win in a row. They have beaten Chelsea and Manchester City, and now it looks like Winning against Cardiff City at home would be a piece of cake for them. It is not however. Cardiff are a well organized side and they will not play an open attacking football as Chelsea and Man City did. So Leicester will not be playing on counterattack and to have too many open spaces. In this fixture the Foxes are the team to have more possession and to attack.

Draw: 1:1

Tottenham Hotspur vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Spurs look like a team who can blow any opposition at the moment. they have won 2:3 against Wolves in November on their visit to Molineux and it looks like that they would win again.

Wolves are very good playing on the counter attacks against team who will attack them. Their defence isn’t that solid and I would expect them to concede goals, but they can also score some.

Tottenham to win: 3:1

Watford vs Newcastle United

Newcastle are above the relegation zone only because they are winning points on the road. Rafael Benitez can organize them in a way that they would either draw or win against any home team, who is missing their own chances to score goals and makes some defensive mistakes.

Watford has won all 3 previous home games against Newcastle and this is something that matters. They are one of the very few teams who went to St. James’s Park and lost to Newcastle, despite that they have played very well and should have taken some points out of their visit to the North.

Draw: 1:1

Liverpool vs Arsenal

Arsenal are capable of surprising Liverpool as they are can keep the ball, play very well in the midfield and if their strikers are clinical, they can cause problems to the Reds at Anfield. At the same time the Gunners defence is quite unconvincing and Unai Emery obviously needs more time to improve his team’s defensive performance. Arsenal have score 41 goals so far this season, but have conceded 25 in 19 games, which is 1.31 goals per game. This means that we should expect them to concede one or two goals in each and every game they play.

Liverpool have learned their lesson from the previous seasons and have strengthen their defence. Their attack is still good, despite that Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Said Mane aren’t that impressive as they were last season when they have been creating havoc in the oppositions’ defenses.

It is very important how Arsenal start the game. If they sober first the probably have a chance to either win or draw.

Liverpool to win: 1:0

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea

This should be a Chelsea win. Palace have recently had some excellent results, including their 2:3 win at Etihad, but here in this London derby I expect Chelsea to win. The Blues should be getting points to improve their position in the table at the time when their opponents play one another.

Chelsea to win: 1:2

Burnley vs West Ham United

Burnley are endangered of relegation and this fixture is very important as they need to win at least a point at home against West Ham. The Hammers have just won 1:2 their third consecutive game on the road against Southampton. Previously they have beaten Newcastle 0:3 and Fulham 0:2.

Manuel Pellegrini have obviously assembled a very competitive team who is capable of winning games using the opposition’s weaknesses. Burnley are one of those sides who have weaknesses this season. The Clarets have conceded the most goals in the league so far this season – 41 and they don’t score a lot. I have a feeling that if Sean Dyche doesn’t change that within the next 2-3 games, he will be managing in the Championship next season.

Draw: 1:1

Southampton vs Manchester City

It looks like that Manchester City should finally win a game. Pep Guardiola claims that his team is playing well, but not winning games means he isn’t right. Two weeks ago City have been winning games and it looked they they have been doing this on a landslide. They have looked like champions. Something happened and it is probably that they have had two many important players injured within the last two months.

Now some of them like Kevin De Bruyne are back in the squad and the Pep Guardiola’s side should go back to the winning ways.

After winning two game against 3:2 at home against Arsenal and 1:3 on the road against Huddersfield under their new manager Ralph Hasenhuttl, the Saints slipped at home against West Ham and lost 1:2. So, if City don’t make mistakes, I think they will win that one.

Man City to win: 1:3

Manchester United vs AFC Bournemouth

The Man United players are obviously enjoying life under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as they have scored 8 goals in the last two games, beating Cardiff City 1:5 on the road and then Huddersfield 3:1 at Old Trafford. We would expect them to record a third consecutive win against AFC Bournemouth at home, but we need keep in mind that the Cherries are a well organized side who can stop United.

It is important how the game would start and where would it go. In order get something out of this fixture Bournemouth need to score a goal, as I don’t see United not scoring themselves.

Manchester United to win: 2:1
