Top Attacking players in the world - Abilities and Weakness

Attacking players have a huge role in the modern day football. They are like the center of attraction in every match. No surprise, because there are a lot of talented players across the world who are showcasing their Abilities in various competitions. Here in this article, we are going to take a look at the top attacking players in the world football right now, who are capable of changing a game on their own.

The players are not ranked in any particular order!

Harry Kane

This guy has scored 34 goals in 2017 that's more goals scored than seven premier league sides have managed to do. If there is any player who is near to the scoring abilities of Messi and Ronaldo right now, its Kane. He scored a brace against Dortmund and a hattrick against Apoel in the Champions League group stage this season. He definitely is going to break some records in the coming days.

Abilities

He is good with both of his feet, has good physical strength, good in shooting and good in headers. He links up well with his teammates and is also capable of creating chances in the final third. He also got a decent pace to run at the ball and chase off defenders.

Weakness

His positioning can be further improved. Other than that, he does not have any significant weaknesses.

Robert Lewandowski

If you ask me who is the best #9 in the world right now, I would say Lewandowski! There was a time Luiz Suarez was arguably the best striker in the world, but the Uruguayan seem to be having a bad time for a couple of seasons and Lewandowski took over him for some time. Came from Dortmund for free, Lewandowski always proved to be a great addition to the team. Scoring a lot of goals for Bayern and the best one of those was when he scored 5 goals in 9 minutes against Wolfsburg which became a Guinness world record and probably won't be broken anytime for a very long time.

Abilities

Great positioning, can score with both feet and one of the best header of the ball. He's great in linking up with his teammates and also got a good dribbling ability.

Weakness

Does not possess the greatest of pace. Bit weak physically.

Cristiano Ronaldo

The current world player of the year! He doesn't need much introduction as he is one of the best players of the generation along with Lionel Messi. From a traditional winger from his Manchester days, Ronaldo evolved to be a striker these days which turns out to be a good thing as he is bagging a lot of goals and there is not much team that he hasn't scored against. One of the main reasons for Real's successful champions league campaign - the Duodecima. He scored against the big names like Bayern, Juventus and Atletico Madrid. With his exceptional positioning and an eye for the goal pairing with his great shooting and heading abilities, there is little hope for defenders against him and with a little mistake, he will hurt you bad.

Abilities

He is capable of scoring from anywhere, outside or inside! He has got great heading abilities and most of all, his positioning is criminally underrated. He can shake off any defenders within a second and score. Paired with good physique and pace he is definitely a handful for defenders.

Weakness

He is a weak passer and does lack playmaking ability probably due to the fact that he always has an eye for the goal. Also, he is not as much of a dribbler that once he was during his Manchester days which is probably due to his age.

Lionel Messi

The best footballer ever for many out there, extremely talented footballer who can do magic on the pitch, the best dribbler the game has now and much more can be written about this little genius. Words cannot actually describe what he can do on the pitch. When he is in full flow no defender can actually stop him. He got great playmaking skills, vision and scoring boots so he definitely can make an impact on the game on his own. He holds the record for most goals scored in a single season in  La Liga(50) in 2011-12 and most goals scored in a calendar year(91) in 2012 which won't be broken anytime soon.

Abilities

Great close control, reading of the game, vision to create goalscoring opportunity, excellent set-piece abilities, great pace or simply said, most qualities required for a complete player.

Weakness

Lacks ability in the air due to the fact that he is not a tall person. With his excellent set-piece abilities, one might find it amusing that Messi is a bit weak on spot-kicks and has failed on numerous occasions.

Neymar Jr.

Wherever he goes, there is some controversy associated. But it doesn't take away the fact that he is one of the top players in the world right now at this young age. Probably the best young talent after Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Many thought he was the heir to Messi at Barcelona but Neymar had other ideas after he announced his move to PSG. Again, many thought he will fail at PSG, and it is still too early to judge but as things stand, he is doing great at PSG. He posses the dribbling of Messi and the skills of Ronaldinho combined with the scoring of Ronaldo, a near perfect player in many ways. Never afraid to take on defenders, he can do wonders on the ball. He is a star to look out who has the capability to win the Ballon d'Or in the future.

Abilities

Great dribbler, good close control paired with superb vision. He is a great addition to modern football and future of Brazil. He can take on defenders with his dribbling skills or create a chance through his great playmaking skills. He got great pace to run after the ball and got decent header abilities.

Weakness

He has a weak physique and is prone to physical plays. He tends to hold the ball for too long in some instances which allow defenders to cover the space. He tends to be a bit too fancy at times with his skills which attracted a lot of criticism.
